Comarch Cloud service models - which to choose?

When selecting the solution that is best for you, you need to consider your company's size, business needs, and expectations. Comarch Cloud offers three distinct models to operate Comarch ERP:

STANDARD CLOUD – ALL INCLUSIVE

The simplest, cheapest, and most popular cloud access model, tailored to the needs of micro, small, and medium-sized companies.

This variant offers access to all features available in applications running on the Comarch server. When using Standard Cloud, you always work with the latest software version, which ensures compliance with the latest regulations.

Standard Cloud enables you to focus on your value-added business activities, greatly reducing demand for internal IT support.

This is the perfect option for companies which:

  • expect their software to support common processes for commercial, production, or are service companies or accountants
  • don't want to commit resources to building state of the art, custom, and often expensive solutions
  • don't have time to themselves manage the hardware and software environment.

Based on our experience, we figure that Standard Cloud is a good option for roughly 90% of companies. Currently, several thousand of our clients operate Comarch ERP systems using this model.

Key benefits of Standard Cloud:

  • responsibility to manage and maintain all applications lies exclusively with Comarch
  • low price to acquire, implement, set up, and maintain applications, and predictable fees
  • high performance of entire framework guaranteed by Comarch

ENTERPRISE CLOUD –A FLEXIBLE SOLUTION FOR DEMANDING CUSTOMERS

Enterprise Cloud is an operating model where we offer the customer turnkey (or nearly turnkey), dedicated, virtual hardware environment, complete with Comarch ERP software and required supporting IT products. This approach ensures access to all features available in Comarch ERP and enables customization.

This model is primarily selected by medium and large businesses, which often require integration with other IT solutions and need highly customizable infrastructure. Enterprise Cloud enables customers to run their own, company and industry-specific features, and to add other applications.

Using Comarch Enterprise Cloud ensures access to the latest Comarch ERP software, but it's always the customer who decides when to upgrade. This is because custom solutions developed by customers need to be validated and possibly updated by the client's own IT team.

This model works best for companies which require a feature-rich standard ERP solution that also fully supports individual set-up and is able to run custom, dedicated products.

Key benefits of Enterprise Cloud:

  • full access to hardware environment and latest software versions
  • customers are able to manage updates, configure the platform, and build custom solutions
  • predictable fees
  • ability to scale the environment quickly

COMARCH HOSTING – WORK USING CLOUD LICENSES

Cloud-based environment provided by Comarch Hosting enables you to deploy your purchased Comarch ERP licenses as well as third-party software on Comarch servers – it's up to the customer to choose what solutions they want to host.

This environment also provides required third-party licenses (for operating systems, database software, etc.).

The hosting format is often selected by enterprises which previously maintained Comarch ERP software on their internal servers or which have multiple additional applications (developed in-house or provided by third parties) which they want to use within their cloud environment.

Key benefits of Comarch Hosting:

  • savings from substantially lower investment compared to building and running own IT infrastructure
  • the company has full control over how it's going to use available resources
  • predictable fees
  • high scalability
  • single point of contact

Which cloud model to select?

Which is best for your organization? Which path to follow? This all depends on your expectations and business needs. The core difference between the models is the degree to which Comarch Data Center engineers are responsible for solution maintenance.

However, no matter which format the customer chooses, they will benefit from a reduction in spending on expensive IT hardware.

Compare Comarch Cloud models available to you. See a table which shows all the differences, and choose the model that's right for you.

Which option is more financially viable – ERP based in the cloud, or installed locally?

Costs are a core factor when choosing software for your business. They also vary depending on whether you buy or lease.

When considering the financial viability of cloud and on-premises options, you need to take a number of factors into account. When businesses compare the on-premises (local) model with the cloud, their local deployment estimate often includes only amounts payable to software vendors and hardware suppliers. They ignore all other costs associated with investing in on-premises deployment.

When building your in-house physical environment, you often purchase equipment which then operates way below capacity, or lies idle altogether. By choosing to run your company using the state of the art, cloud-based Comarch platform, you have access to a highly efficient IT environment customized to meet your specific needs and expectations.

Within the cloud, you are allocated precisely those resources you require at any given moment. The cloud also helps reduce various expenditures, including electricity bills, rent, system updates, and IT salaries.

Please see what infrastructure and cost items need to be considered when planning in-house development of IT framework, and compare on-premises deployment with various cloud types.

Going with the cloud has multiple benefits:

  • The cloud means mobility. It provides constant access to data, from any place or device (read more on remote work)
  • The cloud eliminates spending on servers, licenses, and initial hardware setup
  • In cloud environments, tasks such as IT maintenance, management, and security compliance, are the responsibility of service provider.
  • Your company doesn't need to find and pay expensive IT professionals
  • By moving from in-house, on-premises servers and data centers, you will save on hardware maintenance, rent, electricity bills, air-conditioning, monitoring, and backup processes. All those items will be handled by your cloud provider
  • When you maintain your in-house deployment, you need to scale costs in line with company growth
  • You always work with the latest versions of all software
  • You pay fixed subscription fees, and only for the period when you actually use the software. Cloud subscription fees are easy to calculate, and you can plan for this cost well ahead, according to your company size
  • The cloud means flexibility – you can quickly and easily increase or decrease the amount of licenses required, depending on how many users currently need access to the software in your companyModern data centers supported by cloud experts provide significantly better data security than local server rooms

Fundamental benefits include time savings, flexibility, security, and peace of mind. An increasing number of companies opt for cloud solutions, which are able to meet requirements for large corporations as well as small businesses.

Moving to the cloud simply pays off.
