CEMEX is known for the outstanding safety and quality of its products. Behind the implementation of the LEGACY solution was one goal: zero accidents at work and sustained or improved safety and energy standards as well as environmental and energy management standards. The company also aimed to provide for proper organization and consistency of their internal processes as their staff used to put ample time and effort into processing paper documents and operations in calculation sheets and e-mail communication. This called for a single solution to optimize all of these processes.
Comarch’s solution had all of the functionalities needed. The solution customized to CEMEX’s needs comprised three modules. The first of them, Comarch Quality Management enabled the customer to set up a central repository of all files related to product quality and services. It now provides for easy access to key documents and quick data retrieval for the staff of the quality and other departments. Thanks to the Comarch Contract Management, (component of Comarch Procure-to-Pay suite), CEMEX can now set up a safe and internally consistent repository of all commercial contracts, and the staff of procurement, legal and accounting departments can quickly retrieve and check any contract on record. These two modules are complemented by Comarch MailRoom, a tool for inbound and outbound mail management. Electronic repositories greatly facilitate mail management and timely insight retrieval. Functionalities such as a digital address book and an automatically generated log of sent mail streamline much of the administrative work and reduce the error rate. The solution has also helped the company to cut down on the amount of lost dispatches.
