BP owns approximately 22 600 fuel stations in the world, including more than 400 in Poland. It produces 3.8 million barrels of oil a day. The family of brands that comprise the group includes: BP (leading brand), Aral, ARCO, Castrol, ampm (a network of convenience stores in the western United States), and Wild Bean Cafe.

Type of the project: WAN network outsourcing, and project hosting to ensure the delivery of the hardware platform service and the Comarch Loyalty Management application in the Software as a Service model



Project description


The scope of hosting services includes:

  • administration of the platform
  • monitoring and helpdesk
  • providing transaction processing time at 550ms
  • ensuring performance of up to 150 transactions per second
  • spare Data Center (Disaster Recovery Center)
  • equipment lifecycle management (migration and development of the environment)

Service maintenance of systems: migration from Unix platforms (Sun Sparc Solaris) onto x86 technology, migration of the database version: starting from Oracle DB 9i through 10g, 11g and now moving of the data warehouse to the spare data center for better performance.


The scope of the WAN service includes:

  • WAN for 450 customer locations
  • developing the concept of WAN built on the available services at the location of data transmission
  • comarch’s intermediation in contacts with Operators (Orange, Signalhorn, GTS Poland)
  • providing network devices (routers) with the necessary telecommunications links
  • configuration and installation of routers, switches in accordance with the requirements and standards of BP Europe SE
