This October Barcelona was the host city for the annual Comarch Loyalty Management Conference. For a few days the capital of Catalonia hosted managers of the largest loyalty programs that have been launched in many industries and who were ready to share their experience with conference delegates.
Comarch is a sponsor of one the most important airline industry conferences, the Mega Event. You will see plenty of Comarch at the show as the company co-presents with its client JetBlue on Oct. 14th, leads a workshop on October 12th, and introduces one of the winners of the Mega Awards on October 13th. Keep your fingers crossed as Comarch was also nominated to win a Mega Award in the category “Most Innovative Loyalty Technology.”
Since the beginning of the eighties, when the first Frequent Flyer Program (FFP) was introduced by American Airlines, many changes have occurred in the airline business. Although the traditional model for accrual which is based on the mileage flown by a passenger is still popular, airlines are beginning to acknowledge the opportunity of more closely correlating the fare of the ticket with the actual points credited to FFP members.
