FAQ
1. What is Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)?
IaaS is a subscription-based service that provides the ability to purchase computing and storage capabilities as an alternative to setting up data center facilities and purchasing hardware, equipment and software licensing for on-premises use. Comarch IaaS typically comes in one of the two forms: managed or unmanaged. Managed IaaS models put the burden of managing the infrastructure on the provider, whereas unmanaged models allow the user to rent infrastructure equipment on a self-service basis, in which case they are responsible for managing infrastructure components as well as applications, middleware and operating systems. IaaS providers are responsible only for the hardware, storage, virtualization and networking components.2. Is there a minimum term commitment for IaaS?
No, there is not. We understand that each of our customers wants something different, so we adjust the duration of every contract depending on the project and customers’ expectations. Due to complexity of IT services, we advise signing a contract for one year, in order to properly adjust, test and see the results of the implemented solution.
Having said that, we offer very attractive discounts for customers who decide on long-term contracts, from 12 months up.3. Who is responsible if the hardware is damaged or destroyed?
Our customers do not have to worry about a thing. Comarch has full responsibility.4. What are the key benefits of IaaS?
- No capital investments. There is no need to make capital investments in computing infrastructure, maintenance or data center space to store the equipment.
- Reduced time of market launch. Because IaaS provides flexibility and scalability, organizations can ramp up and introduce products and services to market much faster.
- No limitations. As data requirements increase, the need for computing power grows. IaaS allows organizations to scale up as they develop, and even scale back if they downsize or have seasonal changes in their operations
5. How can be sure of the security of my data?
We follow the highest international security standards, underpinned by the certificates listed below:
- PN-N-18001:2004 Occupational Health and Safety Management System
- PN-EN ISO 9001:2009 Integrated Quality Management System
- PN-EN ISO 14001:2005 Environmental Management System
- PN-ISO/IEC 27001:2014-2 Information Security Management Systems
- PN-EN ISO 9001:2009 Quality Management Systems
- Internal Control System (WSK) in conformance with Criteria of WSK
- General Data Protection Regulation
- PCI DSS Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (selected projects)
- ISAE3402 (SAS-70) International Standard on Assurance Engagements (selected projects)

17. My current provider is charging only €50 a month. Why should I switch to an IaaS provider? It is important to take into account all components of an IaaS service when comparing the prices. These components may include computing and storage resources, backups, Internet access and data transfer (inbound and outbound). Some providers charge extra (beyond the monthly fee) for additional services that become crucial after a few months of using the service. Our approach is to always present a transparent pricing model. If you would like to make a thorough comparison of your current services with our offers, contact our sales team here: info@comarch.com

20. Can I firewall my servers?Yes, you can.

22. Do you provide SSL certification?Yes, we provide it as an option.

24. Will the IaaS provider install the SSL certificate for me?It is possible within the scope of our managed services.
25. Do you provide nameservers?Yes, we do.
26. What is bandwidth? When referring to a data connection, bandwidth is the total maximum transfer rate of a network connection or device. Essentially, it is a measurement of how fast data can be sent over a wired or wireless connection, usually measured in bits per second. Our data centers have fiber connections to at least two providers. We are able to offer bandwidth up to 10Gbps.
