According to a report on the VoIP services market published by Infonetics Research, one of the largest analytical companies in the world, in the first half of 2009 global revenues from the sale of VoIP services amounted to 21 billion US dollars. In times of economic crisis, VoIP services are very popular among both individual consumers and businesses. Since the end of 2008 to June of 2009, the number of individual subscribers using VoIP technology has increased by 14%. Interesting trends can be observed among business customers.

Analysts predict that at the end of 2009, the sales revenues of operators with these services will increase by 26% compared with the same period last year.
