How does phishing work?
The process is quite simple and can be broken down into 3 steps:
The Bait
An email or message that creates a sense of urgency or piques your curiosity (for instance, "Your account is locked" or "You have a parcel waiting").The Hook
You are encouraged to click on a malicious link or open a dangerous attachment.The Catch
That link leads you to a counterfeit website that captures your login details when you attempt to sign in.
Why is phishing so dangerous?
