Car Connectivity Consortium Members Meeting

For the third time Car Connectivity Consortium Members Meeting was organized by Comarch Technologies at the Comarch Business & Conference Center in Krakow.

The four day event brought together 38 organization’s member companies in the area of consumer electronics, mobile communications and automotive industry, to discuss the market challenges and opportunities for the MirrorLink standard in the area of connected cars.

MirrorLink makes the promise of the connected car a reality, enabling drivers to gain access to phone applications via the car’s navigation screen and dashboard/steering-wheel buttons through a cable connection between the handset and vehicle.

- The same information that you normally see on the phone screen will also been replicated on the vehicle dashboard. MirrorLink is an industry standard, so it is an open platform where others are proprietary in approach and limited to either particular OS or particular type of phone. MirrorLink is really meant to be compatible with as many different phones as many different operating systems of phone as possible, so the idea is that you are not limited, said Alan Ewing, President of CCC.

On the first day of the event there was a press conference on which journalists learnt more about CCC, MirrorLink standard as well as Comarch engagement in CCC projects. During the meeting the journalists from automotive-related magazines and TV channels had a chance not only to interview CCC and Comarch Technologies management but also see MirrorLink Cars such as Citroën DS5, Skoda FABIA and Toyota AYGO to test the technology.

Comarch has been cooperating with CCC since 2012. Thanks to the successful cooperation in the area of Certification Testing System development, as well as Certification Management System, the company has become one of CCC’s most trusted technology partners. As it, Comarch was chosen to host the whole MirrorLink™ Application Certification Management System (ACMS) in its Data Center in Krakow.

- Experience gained during years of cooperation with companies from the consumer electronics area enabled Comarch to build a test tool for CCC. It is under constant development by our team to meet CCC expanding Certification Program needs, said Mariusz Lasek, President of Comarch Technologies.
