Comarch is proud to announce that it has once again become the Official Sponsor of Andrzej Bargiel and his upcoming high-altitude mountain expedition. Following last year's spectacular success in the Himalayas, the outstanding ski mountaineer from Zakopane and the European technology giant are joining forces to take on another extremely demanding challenge.

On June 10, Andrzej Bargiel and his team set off to the Himalayas to attempt a ski descent from the summit of Nanga Parbat.

The collaboration between Comarch and Andrzej Bargiel is a unique project combining technology, emotions, and business. In 2025, the brand supported the historic Everest Ski Challenge expedition, which ended with an unprecedented success—the first ski descent from Mount Everest (8849 m above sea level) in history without the use of supplemental oxygen. Information about this achievement and Comarch's involvement traveled around the world, reaching leading global media outlets. The athlete also became the face of the product campaign for Comarch Betterfly – a company management program that automates the most important processes related to running a microbusiness.

Comarch's continued cooperation with Andrzej Bargiel is no coincidence. Although they operate in completely different environments—the company in the world of code and artificial intelligence, and the ski mountaineer in the most difficult conditions of the Earth's highest peaks—both sides are driven by the same philosophy: they do not stop and always go one step further. The new expedition is another unmapped territory, reflecting the partners' shared values: courage in crossing boundaries and consistency in action.

Why Comarch and Andrzej Bargiel?

We are proud and happy to support Andrzej’s ambitious projects. Like him, we are pioneers in business and technology. We want to push the boundaries of what can be achieved with artificial intelligence, and Andrzej pushes those boundaries in the mountains. Several thousand Comarch employees support him—we go shoulder to shoulder. I am incredibly impressed by the scale of the entire undertaking, and at the same time, Andrzej's modesty and professionalism. We wish you good luck in achieving your intended goals safely. Good luck! – said Comarch Vice President Zbigniew Rymarczyk during the press conference opening the Nanga Parbat expedition.

Andrzej Bargiel, a world-renowned ski mountaineer and the first person to ski down K2 and all four eight-thousanders located in the Karakoram (Broad Peak, K2, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II), gained renown thanks to a bold vision combined with perfect preparation. His achievements also include the historic ski descent from the summit of Mount Everest last year, realized on September 22, 2025.

During an expedition, the most important things are team trust and knowing that we can rely on each other, but also passion! We are happy to be in the mountains together – emphasized Andrzej Bargiel just before the expedition during the press conference.

The new, current year's expedition constitutes another stage of the athlete's signature project, HIC SUNT LEONES. As with previous successes, the expedition plan includes full, professional logistical support and a precise operational strategy, which will allow for maximum utilization of optimal weather conditions and the safe realization of the assumed, ambitious goals. All details and progress of the new expedition will be regularly reported through the sponsor's and the athlete's information channels.

This is Andrzej Bargiel's signature skiing project, whose name (Latin: "here are lions") refers to the designation of undiscovered territories on old maps. The project's goal is skiing descents from the highest peaks on Earth and proving that skiing is possible even on the "roof of the world."
