Andrzej Bargiel Achieves a Historic Feat! The ski mountaineer becomes the first person to ski down Nanga Parbat – Comarch is the official sponsor of the expedition
Andrzej Bargiel has achieved another monumental success. On June 30, 2026, he became the first person in history to complete a full ski descent from the summit of Nanga Parbat (8,126 m) without the use of supplemental oxygen. This groundbreaking triumph allowed him to complete ski descents from all Pakistani eight-thousand-meter peaks – following his previous successful descents of Broad Peak, K2, Gasherbrum I, and Gasherbrum II – making him the first human to achieve this milestone. Comarch is the official sponsor of the expedition as part of the HIC SUNT LEONES project.
Nanga Parbat is home to the Rupal Face, widely recognized as the highest mountain wall on Earth, towering approximately 4,600 meters from its base to the summit.
This extraordinary venture in Pakistan marks the latest chapter of Andrzej Bargiel’s signature project, HIC SUNT LEONES. This historic success proves that what seems impossible is often simply a matter of the right strategy and flawless preparation.
Technology, Emotion, and Business
As the Official Sponsor of the Nanga Parbat Ski Challenge expedition, Comarch proudly supported Andrzej Bargiel at every stage of this extreme journey.
"Everything Andrzej does leaves me deeply impressed. His descent from Nanga Parbat is an extraordinary achievement that required not only exceptional skill, but also courage, humility, and determination. I am especially pleased that, as Comarch, we can be part of this journey and support Andrzej in pursuing such remarkable goals. I believe stories like his inspire not only the mountaineering community, but anyone who faces their own challenges and strives to push the boundaries of what is possible - including in business." emphasized Comarch CEO Jarosław Mikos.
For Comarch, this partnership goes far beyond the framework of traditional sponsorship – it is a unique fusion of innovation, business, and pure emotion. We firmly believe that breaking barriers in the high mountains requires the exact same foundations as in the world of technology.
