Malaysian Ministry of Finance announces changes to e-invoicing introduction timeline

Newly introduced 2024 budget bill includes provisions modifying Malaysia’s e-invoicing mandate introduction schedule. In his bill introductory speech, prime minister and minister off inance declared a two month postponement of the initial stage of e-invoicing obligation together with several other changes. As of now the e-invoicing regime introduction schedule will be shaped as follows:

  • August 1st 2024 for taxpayers with turnover >100 million MYR;
  • July 1st 2025 other taxpayers in several stages (details and exact dates to be announced)
  • B2C transactions reporting dates to be announced

At the same time, no further changes to regime’s planned features were announced.
