French E-Invoicing 2026: How Comarch and SIS ID Cover Compliance and Payment Security
The French e-invoicing mandate is live. Since 1 September 2026, every VAT-registered business in France must be able to receive e-invoices, and large and mid-sized companies must also issue them. SMEs and micro-businesses follow on 1 September 2027.
For finance teams, the reform changes what an invoice is. A compliant e-invoice is no longer a document but a structured data file, issued in one of the accepted formats (UBL, CII or Factur-X) and exchanged through a Plateforme Agréée (PA). Each e-invoice must also carry the mandatory mentions, including the new ones introduced by the reform, such as the customer's SIREN number and the nature of the transaction (goods, services or both). The PA checks format and business rules before the invoice reaches its recipient.
Comarch E-Invoicing goes further: it checks IBANs against ERP data and verifies consistency with master data and government registers. What none of these controls confirm is that the bank account actually belongs to your supplier. That's where Sis ID, an Eftsure Company, comes in, with real-time verification of third parties and their bank details.
E-invoicing and payment fraud: where verification still matters
Typical e-invoicing solutions don’t verify who owns the bank account. An e-invoice carries the payment details provided by its issuer, and it can pass all format and business-rule checks without guaranteeing that those details are correct. Comarch E-Invoicing validates the IBAN on every invoice against ERP master data, but master data can be wrong too. That becomes a problem when:
- a supplier's account has been compromised
- a fraudster has already talked your team into changing a beneficiary's bank details in the ERP
- the vendor master data was wrong
Compliance and payment security are two separate controls. Comarch E-Invoicing and Sis ID each cover one of them, and used side by side, they close the gap between the two.
Why now is the right time to verify bank details
Right now, finance teams are mapping formats, connecting their ERP to a Plateforme Agréée, re-onboarding suppliers and redefining AP approval steps. Each of these tasks touches the supplier records fraudsters target. If the data going in is wrong or fraudulent, an e-invoice can be fully compliant and still send money to the wrong account.
That makes the reform the natural moment to build bank detail verification into your processes. The reform doesn't require it, but the project team is already in place and supplier data is already under review. Adding the control now costs far less than reopening the same processes later.
How Comarch and Sis ID verify bank details on e-invoices
Comarch E-Invoicing and Sis ID combine complementary strengths to make invoicing both compliant and trustworthy.
Comarch E-Invoicing provides a robust, secure e-invoicing infrastructure, ensuring regulatory compliance, automated business-rule validation, seamless ERP integration, and reliable invoice processing across markets. Intelligent automation further supports data mapping, issue detection, and resolution, helping finance teams maintain operational continuity. Behind the scenes, Comarch leverages intelligent agentic automation to assist in data mapping, rapid ticket resolution, status verification, and error explanation, instantly diagnosing processing issues and guiding users on how to resolve them, ensuring maximum platform reliability and operational continuity.
Sis ID helps businesses ensure they pay the right third party using the right bank details. By verifying payment data in real time, Sis ID adds an essential layer of control to the e-invoicing process, identifying correct, incorrect, and potentially fraudulent bank details before payments are made. Each verification provides a clear, actionable explanation, helping finance teams quickly resolve discrepancies and confidently move from compliant invoices to secure payments.
One project for compliance and payment security
For finance leaders, this means one project instead of two. Teams already using Comarch E-Invoicing to rework their flows for the mandate can add bank detail verification to the same pipeline. There's no need to bolt it on later or to rely on manual callbacks, which get harder to sustain as volumes grow.
For AP teams, Comarch surfaces alerts on the invoice before approval, not after the payment has left. The data behind each check comes from a network that sees fraud attempts across thousands of organisations, not from one company's records alone.
That's the power of this partnership: Comarch gets the invoice compliant and deliver trusted data, Sis ID gets the payment verified, before the money moves.
Compliant invoices, verified payments.
The mandate decides how your invoices travel. It doesn't decide where your money goes. With Comarch and Sis ID, finance teams can meet the first requirement and take control of the second in the same project.

FAQ
When does the French e-invoicing mandate apply?
Since 1 September 2026, all VAT-registered businesses in France must be able to receive e-invoices. Large and mid-sized companies must also issue e-invoices from that date. SMEs and micro-businesses must start issuing them on 1 September 2027. E-reporting is also part of the mandate and follows the same timeline as the obligation to issue e-invoices: from 1 September 2026 for large and mid-sized companies, and from 1 September 2027 for SMEs and micro-businesses.
What is an approved platform /Plateforme Agréée in French?
A Plateforme Agréée (PA) is an e-invoicing platform accredited by the French tax administration (DGFiP). PAs like Comarch E-Invoicing exchange e-invoices between buyer and seller, issue e-reports, and transmit required tax data to the government platform (PPF), while supporting strong data security. Real-time IBAN verification adds a further layer of protection against compromised vendor accounts or master data errors.
Does e-invoicing prevent invoice fraud?
Partly. E-invoicing mandates generally define mandatory channels and formats to be used to comply to the local requirements. Nevertheless, fraudulent information can still be integrated in a compliant e-invoice (bank details for example). Comarch applies business rules, validates IBANs against ERP master data, and supports 3-way matching. However, these controls cannot confirm that a bank account genuinely belongs to the supplier. Combining Comarch’s compliance controls with Sis ID’s real-time IBAN verification helps protect against compromised vendor accounts, fraudulent bank detail changes, and master data errors.
