In this episode, Christopher Schwaiger from the Plansee Group gives his take on the complexities of mandatory e-invoicing regulations across the EU, the evolving role of accountants in an AI-driven world, and the importance of having a robust global strategy. Reflecting on the evolving digital landscape, Christopher shared a crucial insight regarding automation and human expertise:
"Of course, with AI and other technical features, hopefully, life is getting easier for the user, but still, you need users who understand what the machines are doing. (…) You have to understand what's happened and know the background to handle this appropriately and compliantly." 🤖
Christopher also highlighted the importance of a strategic approach when tackling international invoicing mandates:
"Having a good structure and a good strategy is most important. You have to know: do I want to fulfill the requirements for each and every legal country with a local provider, for example, or do I have one strategy to fulfill the same process in various countries in the same way and have, for example, a strong partner who supports me with this?"
