E-Invoicing Pulse represents the living, breathing reality of digital transformation. It’s where the technical world of XML and automation meets the human experience. We aren't just talking about data; we’re capturing the energy, the challenges, and the collective heartbeat of the experts who are driving the industry forward.

In this next episode of the “E-Invoicing Pulse”, José Cortés, Principal Product Manager for Invoicing at JAGGAER, joins us for a quick interview about where electronic invoicing is heading and how fast it's getting there.

José sums up e‑invoicing in three words: “No paper ever.”  🚫📄The unstructured, unsigned PDF, he says, is on its way out, replaced by machine‑readable formats like CXML and JSON. “There will always be a place for a PDF,” he notes, “but the days when an unstructured, unsigned PDF could be considered an electronic invoice are over.”

He's equally direct about priorities when it comes to running a project: tax compliance comes before efficiency, not after. “The project needs to be first compliant before being efficient,” he explains. “Once the project is tax compliant, efficiency will come its own way.”

His advice for teams feeling behind on mandates? Stop waiting. ⏳ “The best day to prepare for electronic invoicing compliance was yesterday. The second-best day is today.” With governments typically offering six months to a year before a mandate takes effect, he sees last‑minute scrambling as a sign the early warning signs were missed.

🎥 Watch the full episode to hear José’s take on where human expertise still holds its ground against AI, what has him most excited about the future of the industry, and much more.
