Comarch, together with PwC Middle East, held the E-Invoicing Execution Masterclass on June 25 at the Waldorf Astoria DIFC in Dubai. The closed-door session brought together tax, finance, and IT decision-makers to discuss practical preparation for the UAE's upcoming e-invoicing mandate.

Preparing Ahead of the 2027 UAE Mandate

The event focused on the operational and technical steps companies need to take ahead of the January 2027 go-live deadline. While the UAE Ministry of Finance recently moved the reporting timeline to the end of October, the adjustment should not be read as extra breathing room: Accredited Service Provider (ASP) onboarding, system integrations, and comprehensive testing still need to begin well in advance to ensure a stable, penalty-free launch.

Abhinav Mangla, Director, Middle East Tax Strategy and Transformation at PwC Middle East, and Marc AlHachem, Manager at PwC Middle East, opened the session with an overview of the regulatory landscape and the Peppol-based 5-Corner Model, outlining how companies can adapt existing ERP workflows to meet the new requirements.

Kamila Kania, Head of Consulting, and Jakub Frankiewicz, Global Consulting Director at Comarch, followed with a session on bridging the gap between ERP data and the PINT-AE format. Their presentation addressed Accredited Service Provider duties, the responsibilities of Corner 1 (supplier) and Corner 4 (buyer), the hidden data-mapping risks and integration bottlenecks that can stall transactions and liquidity during a live transition, and a phased framework for assessing data, system, and process readiness.

In the second part of the day, the Comarch team presented a practical implementation strategy and technical architecture for deployment, drawing on lessons learned from international e-invoicing projects.

All participants received a post-event deployment toolkit, including a step-by-step EmaraTax onboarding guide, the full PINT-AE format specifications, and the presentation materials from the session. The event concluded with a networking dinner for attendees and speakers.
