The development of artificial intelligence is currently setting new directions for the entire IT industry. As an AI-first organization whose mission is to guide clients through the AI era, we know that we must be present where the most important discussions about the future of artificial intelligence and machine learning take place.

The ML in PL Conference 2026 took place from October 8–10 at the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw. Comarch experts spoke at the conference on October 9.

Artificial Intelligence in the Spotlight

Today, AI in business is much more than real-time data analysis. It is also the ability to make decisions autonomously and securely. Our experts discussed how we combine advanced machine learning (ML) analytics with Agentic AI within the Comarch architecture.

On Friday at 4:15 PM in Hall A, representatives of Comarch Communication, Arkadiusz Zwierz (Head of R&D Department) and Sebastian Zaranek (Software Developer & Architect), took the stage. Their presentation was titled "From Anomaly Detection to Autonomous Action: Bridging ML Analytics and Agentic AI in Sovereign Telecom Networks."

User-Centric Engineering

Arkadiusz Zwierz emphasized that network management software must be developed with the realities of its users' work in mind. Engineers should deeply understand the pressure and stress faced by operators in Network Operations Centers (NOC):

“ "In our engineering team, we have one golden rule: you must know your client. You must know what they need. You must feel what they feel on a Friday evening when a massive storm of alerts hits from the network."

Knowledge and Experience as the Foundation for Development

Sebastian Zaranek addressed the challenges of expanding the capabilities of traditional telecommunications systems with AI/ML solutions. He pointed out that the effective use of new technologies requires combining engineering experience, well-chosen machine learning algorithms, and systems based on Agentic AI.

“ "At Comarch, we have over 30 years of experience, and fault management was one of our first products. It would be a waste to discard this knowledge and say, 'Okay, now AI will solve everything, just type in a prompt.' When we add infrastructure costs to the equation, it turns out that AI might not be the ideal solution in every case."

Key Moments and Technological Responsibility

One of the important points of the conference was the speech by Krzysztof Gawkowski, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland and Minister of Digital Affairs, opening the Witold Lipski Awards ceremony. This is one of the most important Polish scientific distinctions for young computer scientists, awarded for outstanding achievements in the field of computer science.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the responsible development of technology, including artificial intelligence (AI):

“ "In this revolution happening before our eyes, we must act reasonably. The primary task of the state is not to hinder the development of technology or the building of language models, but to constantly talk about security, demand it, and ensure that humans always remain at the center of this change."

The conference agenda also included other inspiring speeches. It is worth highlighting the lecture "When Prompting Is Not Enough: Precise Control Needs Precise Understanding," delivered by Kamil Deja from the Warsaw University of Technology and the IDEAS Research Institute.

Exchanging knowledge and experiences with experts allows us to develop innovative solutions and carry out our mission even more effectively: to support clients in safely navigating the AI era.
