The Polish software house Comarch has opened a new data center in Dresden. The investment, worth 12 million euro, was financed mostly by Comarch. 2 million euro came from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The opening ceremony on 26 April 2013 was attended by the Prime Minister of Saxony, Mr. Stanislaw Tillich and the Polish Minister of the Economy, Mr. Dariusz Bogdan.

Comarch Data Center overs an area of approximately 4800 sq.m. and is made up of offices for nearly eighty employees and two data centers with an area of approximately 600 sq.m. With this new data center operating in Dresden, Comarch’s German customers will be able to use Comarch Data Center services based on the IT infrastructure located in Germany, which for many German companies is a prerequisite condition for cooperation.

- Currently, we can clearly observe changes in the requirements of European customers concerning suppliers of IT products. Emphasis is increasingly put on the complexity of provided services to support business information. This approach fits perfectly the strategy of developing Comarch Data Center in Dresden. The services provided by this center make it much easier to reach local customers on a German market - underlines Ryszard Kluza, director of Comarch Data Center.

- Market data centers in Western Europe are very large, so Comarch’s development strategy must also include this particular area. A new data center in Dresden is a confirmation of our concept. We can now fully offer our extensive portfolio of software and services, including managed services targeted directly to business – particularly SaaS and PaaS solutions to our German clients. Our position in terms of high quality of service is proven by numerous references we have obtained and the competitiveness of our prices. We expect further increase of customers requiring data center services, so we are planning to open more centers in Poland and abroad - says Marcin Geroch, Consulting Director, Comarch Data Center.

Comarch Data Center in Dresden is the second built in Germany. In 2011, Comarch opened its first German data center in Frankfurt, thanks to its resource partner – e-Shelter. Comarch has its own data centers both in Krakow and Warsaw, and is preparing to launch a new one in Lille, France. Comarch also provides data center services to its customers in Chicago, London and Luxembourg.
