Krakow, Poland, February 22 – Comarch announced today that Comarch, a global supplier of IT solutions for telecoms, has joined The LF Networking Fund’s (LFN) Open Network Automation Platform (ONAP) project as a new member. ONAP brings together the majority of global carriers and vendors to build an automation and orchestration platform to transform the service delivery lifecycle for network, cable and cloud providers. The recent addition of Comarch highlights this company’s commitment to being one of the driving forces behind the development of open platform environments, network virtualization, software-defined networks, and cloud technologies.

ONAP brings together over 50 of the largest network and cloud operators and technology providers from around the globe, enabling nearly 60 percent of global mobile subscribers. Comarch is dedicated to the task of telecom digitization and network transformation, and wishes to be among the leading players of this initiative.

“We are really excited to join and work with our partners in the ONAP initiative”, said Marcin Dąbrowski, Vice President and Director of the Telecommunications division at Comarch. “ONAP membership is a great opportunity to kick-start and utilize our ongoing investments in NASS (network automation support systems) to offer faster SDN and NFV implementation. Given Comarch’s extensive experience working with telecoms, we are uniquely positioned to bring value to the ONAP community. Through our dedication to open and cloud-native platforms as well as adoption of a microservice approach, Comarch will contribute to the project by helping ONAP build automation competences to speed up the deployment of virtual networks, 5G and the Internet of Things.”

“We are pleased to welcome Comarch to the LFN and ONAP,” said Arpit Joshipura, general manager of Networking and Orchestration at The Linux Foundation. “As a leading global supplier of IT solutions for telecoms, Comarch's expertise will be a welcome addition to the ONAP and LFN communities. Comarch joins a strong community of ecosystem partners committed to operational excellence and collaboration, ultimately enabling faster integration and deployment across open source and open standards. We look forward to working closely with Comarch and the rest of the community in this endeavor."
