Lotos

Discussions on the implementation by Comarch of an electronic document transmission system at Lotos Paliwa got underway last year. The Comarch EDI project Comarch presented focuses on the sending of service and fuel invoices in electronic form so that paper ones are no longer needed. Lotos recognized the design as ideal for its business needs and decided on a full EDI (Electronic Document Interchange) implementation.

Every month, Lotos Paliwa was sending thousands of documents to its customers who distribute fuel to a variety of destinations, including factories and road-building stations. As well as invoices, the documents also concerned goods-movements. Processing such a vast number of paper documents involved very high costs (inputting, postal costs, paper), frequent errors of the kind that appear when the human factor is involved, such as errors in data transfer and losing documents, and the costs of storing invoices.

To eliminate the extraordinarily high costs paper documentation generates, Comarch proposed the introduction of electronic documents in the form of the Comarch EDI E-Invoicing Archive (earlier ECOD Operator and ECOD Archive solutions).
