Hortex Holding SA established cooperation with Comarch SA in the scope of Comarch ECOD Distribution (now Comarch SFA Online Distribution), an IT system for reporting data from traditional sales channels. The pilot project started in 2008 and lasted for about 6 months. The business case, prepared jointly by both the Hortex and Comarch Implementation Team, assumed the connection of over 150 distributors supporting Hortex through product redistribution as well as supplying the BW Hortex SAP system with data from Comarch ECOD Distribution (now Comarch SFA Online Distribution). The pilot project finished successfully and Hortex Holding SA decided to implement the Comarch ECOD Distribution platform (now Comarch SFA Online Distribution).
Situation before implementation of the Comarch ECOD Distribution system (now Comarch SFA Online Distribution)
Hortex Holding S.A., existing on the market since the 1940s, very quickly adjusted to the new market reality after its radical reorganization at the beginning of the 21st century. This included the use of IT systems for supporting, organizing and managing business. Unfortunately, the tools used in the field to support mobile sales network featured many limitations. The declared orders generated by sales representatives did not allow for effective settlement of results by the sales force. Information was missing about inventory and distributor resales.
