Comarch awarded for Expertise in IBM i

Munich, 03/18/2011: At IBM PartnerWorld Leadership Conference 2011 which took place in Orlando, Florida (USA), Comarch’s Business Development Center for IT Infrastructure in Munich has been awarded the IBM Centre of Technical Excellence (CoTE) Award. This award is given to business partners who excel in sales-related and technological expertise.

According to the Business Partner Technical Vitality (BPTV) Scorecard, the Munich-based BDC IT-Infrastructure obtained highest points in business development and competency. The BPTV Scorecard evaluates both general and product-related capabilities of IBM’s partners with regard to sales, technology, architecture, project management, and other core processes.

Christoph Hasler, Director of the BDC IT-Infrastructure of Comarch Software und Beratung AG, Munich, has accepted the award in Orlando. Being IBM Premier Partner, his team has the highest partner status of IBM and comprehensive expertise regarding the platform IBM System i. The team’s portfolio contains innovative solutions for servers, storage, virtualization, reliability, etc.

At CeBIT 2011 in Hanover, the BDC IT-Infrastructure has recently presented a new concept for solutions hosted on System i, such as e.g. office, e-mail or CRM applications. The solutions deployed on a central server in a logical partition and used with the operating system Linux can be provided to all users within a company. By means of this type of desktop virtualization, traditional client applications can be hosted on IBM Power Systems in a ‘private cloud’. Advantages are, amongst others, central administration, data storage, and maintenance. The concept has been developed in the Comarch Innovation Center in Munich.
