In mid-2010 the inhabitants of the Pomerania Region began to benefit from the e-Police portal – the Pomeranian Police Electronic Platform for Communication with the community. Regional Police in Gdansk were the first to implement the system to help citizens contact the local police departments and to improve their safety. The new solution will improve the work of more than 7 thousand police officers and civilian employees, and will include 39 police units throughout the region.
Implementation of the portal is scheduled to take place over three months, and its total cost amounts to 4.36 million zł. The Comarch Consortium won the contract, with up to 7 companies competing in the tender.
The e-Police project will include the creation of the portal, which will launch interactive services, improve communication with law enforcement and expedite the flow of cases. Every citizen will be able to request and transmit documents electronically. It will also be possible to check on an ongoing basis at which stage a particular matter is at. Access to the portal will be possible through Public Internet Access Points, which will enable residents to reach Pomerania and various electronic forms. Comarch will provide computers, servers and networking equipment.
