Five new customers for Comarch Semiramis

Suitable for use around the globe, with sector-specific processes and online solutions on demand  - these were key factors that convinced five SMEs to opt for the ERPII software Comarch Semiramis in June. These new customers were the result of hard work by the Comarch Solutions subsidiary (Laser Components GmbH, Victorinox Hong Kong Limited, Quorion Data Systems GmbH) and Semiramis partners KI (Lingemann Group) and A-MEA (Treff AG).

A state-of-the-art solution for a hi-tech manufacturer
Based in Olching, just a stone's throw away from Munich, Laser Components GmbH specializes in laser technologies and optoelectronics. In a lengthy ERP selection process involving ten candidates, Comarch Semiramis emerged as the winner thanks to its combination of cutting-edge technology, modern user interface, broad range of functions and sector-specific features. The implementing partner, Comarch Solutions GmbH, focuses particularly on the hi-tech, electronics and laser industries and can provide a wealth of testimonials from the sector.

Laser Components is a specialist in the development, manufacture and distribution of components and services for laser technology and optoelectronics. It has an in-depth knowledge of photonics. The manufacturing plant and sales center are both located at the headquarters in Germany. There are additional production plants in the United States and Canada and sales offices in France, the United Kingdom and the United States. The company currently employs over 130 staff worldwide.

Laser Components has purchased a total of 80 user licenses. Comarch Semiramis will be rolled out at all of the company's offices in phases.

Supporting expansion in Asia
Victorinox Hong Kong, the Asian arm of the maker of the Swiss Army Knife, has offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Taipei City. The company was looking for an ERP solution to support and manage the rapid expansion of its marketing activities in the Asian market. Working with an independent management and process consultant, the company carried out a comprehensive review of the leading ERP solutions, including Comarch Semiramis.

Comarch Semiramis was chosen for its scalability, its ability to cover relevant processes, the approval of key users and also the Swiss-based parent company's long and successful history of using the software. The Chinese management team also viewed the Semiramis installation at the Victorinox head office in Ibach-Schwyz where there are 200 licensed Comarch Semiramis users.

The Chinese language version of Comarch Semiramis and Microsoft's SQL Server database will be rolled out as a separate multi-site installation for all 50 users in Victorinox Hong Kong's offices. Victorinox has over 1,800 staff worldwide, including 100 in Asia.

Cash register manufacturer Quorion opts for Comarch Semiramis on demand
Quorion Data Systems GmbH is based in Erfurt, Germany, and exports its cash registers to around 70 countries. The company wanted an ERP solution that was available as a web-based service. Quorion, which has 40 employees, produces up to 5,000 cash registers each month in its cutting-edge manufacturing and technology center, ranging from standard cash registers to POS systems for retailers and restaurants to customized solutions for bakeries, dry cleaners and operators who are required to use fiscal cash registers.

The web-based technology and user-friendliness combined with a range of functions that matched its needs and the potential for adapting the software to reflect in-house processes led Quorion to plump for Comarch Semiramis. Quorion has ordered ten user licenses for the on-demand version of the ERPII solution. The software is hosted by the Comarch data center.

A perfect partner for steel industry processes
KI GmbH, the Bielefeld-based Semiramis partner, has acquired the medium-sized steel wholesaler, Lingemann Group, as a new customer. KI has developed an industry-specific Comarch Semiramis solution for the steel sector. The company showcased a prototype at the Bad Oeynhausen-based steel company which demonstrated how steel industry processes could be managed using Comarch Semiramis. Whilst developing the prototype, KI also completed most of the interface for over 1,600 storage racks.

The Lingemann Group is involved in various aspects of the steel trade and in prefabricated steel and tube laser cutting. L. Lingemann Stahlgroßhandel GmbH focuses primarily on sales of rolled, sheet and tubular steel products, whilst its affiliate Stahlkontor GmbH specializes in prefabricated products in high-grade, bright and stainless steel. The Group employs 60 staff.

The Comarch Semiramis rollout has been split into two phases. In the first phase, which began in June, the applications will be installed on 45 workstations in the sales, purchasing, warehousing and logistics sections. The accounting department will begin to use the software in 2011.

Technology, ergonomics and technical expertise
Treff AG has its head office in Degersheim, Switzerland, and is a leader in injection moldings, precision plastic components, complete assemblies, plastic consumables for medical use and diagnostics and disposable plastic goods for laboratory use. The company manufactures precision injection-molding components weighing between 0.2g and 1.2 kg.

The company decided to order 50 Comarch Semiramis user licenses because of the cutting-edge technology, excellent ergonomics, wide range of functions available and the technical expertise provided by our Semiramis partner, A-MEA Informatik AG. Treff AG employs 170 staff.
