National Information System for the monitoring and financial control of the EU Structural Funds

SIMIK is an information system that enables monitoring and financial control in the process of implementation and allocation of the Structural Funds, Cohesion Fund and other European Aid Funds. The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of Polish State Administration to effectively manage and exploit EU financial assistance.
The specific objectives of the system are:

  • management of the European resources for European Union co-financed projects;
  • monitoring of financial ratios and effects of projects implemented as a part of Community Support Framework and Operational Programmes (split into funds, priorities, measures and projects);
  • supplying the European Commission with necessary reports regarding the implementation of Structural Funds and Cohesion Fund in Poland;
  • monitoring and management of projects from submitting the proposals through subsequent stages of project-management;
  • financial control and evaluation of projects support.

Systems integrated with SIMIK: the European Commission System, the National Bank of Poland System, the Central Statistical Office System, the Financial-Accounting System of  the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management,  the Financial-Accounting Systems of Managing Authorities and Intermediate Bodies.
Institutions engaged in developing the SIMIK system: Ministry of Finance; Ministry of Economy, Labour & Social Policy; Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Ministry of the Environment; Ministry of Infrastructure; Voivodship and Marshal Offices; the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management,  General Directorate of National Highways and Motorways; PKP POLISH STATE RAILWAYS Joint Stock Company; Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture; Polish Agency for Enterprise Development; Central Statistical Office.
