That is why Comarch, in the field of business software for SMEs, has decided to cooperate with this biggest global IT technology provider in order to offer the best solution possible to our customers. The cooperation extends far beyond usual sales cooperation – Comarch and Microsoft are steadily exchanging knowledge and experience on the newest technologies available, which are designed to improve the effectiveness of our customers’ businesses. One example of this in-depth cooperation is the Comarch ALTUM development team’s participation in the .NET deep dive program – a challenging undertaking aimed at knowledge exchange to help Microsoft develop the incoming version 4.0 of the .NET technology. The importance of this cooperation may be expressed by the fact that only 50 companies worldwide have been invited to participate in this program.

.NET

Comarch ALTUM has always been designed using the newest Microsoft .NET technology, currently .NET 3.5. .NET is a software programming environment easily connecting information, people, systems and devices, and allowing a high level of software integration through the application of web and mobile services. The technology provides a runtime environment (Common Language Runtime - CLR) and class libraries, which include standard functionalities for applications.

.NET is currently the top programming technology available on the market. It is the strategic direction of Microsoft's software development, which means that more and more software applications will be developed with the solution. Due to its popularity, .NET is a well-known technology to many IT specialists, making it easy to guarantee in-house administration and development of the .NET environment of your company.

Windows Workflow Foundation

The Business Process Management engine of Comarch ALTUM, developed as the process-oriented backbone of the system as well as the entire software-environment within your company, is based on the Windows Workflow Foundation.

Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF) is a technology designed to define, execute and manage processes in the applications made up with Microsoft’s technologies. In order to do that, Microsoft provides companies with activity sets (the smallest workflow units responsible for performing a given operation, i.e. getting customer data, saving a sales invoice, etc.) and other programming-related elements. When developing processes you can take advantage of a visualized development environment, which facilitates and makes the process development easy to control.

Using this technology in Comarch ALTUM makes creating processes easier, because activities and sequences of repeatable tasks may be shared across many systems and software applications. That is why by creating and coordinating a system or human processes (interaction between the software, people, or both) it is possible to easily link Comarch ALTUM with external applications all over your company as well as beyond – e.g. at your supplier’s or customer’s site.

SQL Server 2008

Comarch ALTUM ERP operates under the best database management system available for small and medium-sized companies. In order to guarantee high performance of transactional data storage, integration services as well as analysis and reporting services, the system is fully adapted to work in the MS SQL 2008 environment. This ensures the highest standards of security and reliability, making daily work smooth and trouble-free in an environment that limits your IT costs.

Comarch ALTUM can also operate on the basis of MS SQL Server 2005 database.

Windows 7 compatibility

Comarch ALTUM is fully prepared to work in the Windows 7 operating system. This gives our customers the possibility to take advantage of the synergy effect of combining a very efficient and easy-to-use ERP solution with the most innovative operating system available on the market.
