Data exchange

Comarch Mobile devices can remain permanently connected to the central ERP database through an internet connection. This allows you to i.e.:

  • Synchronize dictionaries and documents
  • Check current sales prices
  • Display inventory levels of given items
  • Find a document by reading its barcode
  • Create inventory sheets

Since Comarch Mobile devices are equipped with their own SQL database, it is also possible to work with them in an offline mode. When working offline and then reconnecting to the Internet, data will be re-synchronized immediately. In this mode it is possible, for example, to receive items in the warehouse, identify products by their barcode and name, issue inventory sheets (with the possibility to synchronize it when the connection is restored). In addition, synchronization properties can be set so that they meet your expectations in the best possible way (i.e. synchronizing right after the connection is restored; synchronizing every hour/day).

Synchronization is performed in two directions:

  • Data transfer from the Comarch ALTUM core system to your mobile device; this way you can synchronize things such as current price lists, available amounts of articles or the current credit limits of customers.
  • Data transfer from a mobile device to the Comarch ALTUM core system makes orders registered on the mobile device available for execution in the central database, adds newly gained customers to the central database and makes sales activities performed on the mobile device visible in reports.

You can define a list of data collectors which will synchronize with the system. Each data collector will have its own unique number, which will enable the clear identification of the device in the system. As a result, you can specify different document numeration for each device, decide what information should be made available on which device and which users are allowed to use the device.
