The Comarch ALTUM BPM engine was developed within the Windows Workflow Foundation framework, which is designed for defining, executing and managing processes. The environment makes it possible to create processes that coordinate the interaction between humans and applications required to execute business transactions.

The Workflow Foundation introduces a specific programming solution, in which the provided tools allow for rapidly building process models. Process models can be used for simple scenarios or complex enterprise solutions. The Windows Workflow Foundation also provides a visual development environment that facilitates the simple development of processes from both the perspectives of developers and business managers.
